About
Built by a campaign operator. Grounded in community.
Civic Topography was founded by M. Kyle Watson, PMP — a project management professional with fifteen years working on races and for organizations across eight states, both directly for campaigns and as a consultant, including senior roles in two presidential primary cycles.
The platform was built from the inside out: someone who has run campaigns, managed coordinated operations, and watched firsthand as data-driven institutions make critical mistakes because they operate on thin data — surface-level signals like vote history, demographics, and donation records that describe a population without explaining what it believes, who it trusts, or why it moves. That experience is the foundation. The methodology is how that experience becomes a discipline.
Civic Topography operates as two entities. The LLC delivers commercial campaign and intelligence services. The Civic Topography Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit currently in formation, conducts community research, runs a fellowship program, and holds the community intelligence asset in public trust.
